On Monday, July 11th,  Congress will vote on the BULB Act (H.R. 2417) which would repeal a provision in the Energy Independence & Security Act of 2007 that sets energy efficiency standards for light bulbs.  Lighting Science Group is encouraging all of our fans and followers to write to their Members of Congress and ask them to vote NO on the BULB Act—passage would be a huge setback in America’s progress towards a more energy efficient economy.  The standards put in place in 2007 do not require anyone to purchase a specific bulb; however it does require that bulbs be at least 25% more energy efficient.  Rollback of the standards will jeopardize billions of dollars of consumer energy savings, stifle innovation that is creating U.S. jobs and increase air pollution that harms human health and the environment. We appreciate everyone’s support—visit to find your Member of Congress.  Thank you!
